Cold Air Intake
I live in Chicago, and I was wondering if it is worth spending money on a cold air intake. Since most of the time around here it doesn't get over 80 dig F. Or should I just get a ram intake?

Re: Cold Air Intake
4th generation maxima's have poor top end power. i've read that they don't take well to CAI's becuase all the extra piping makes it even harder for the engine to breathe at higher rpms. your best bet is for a warm air intake, or just hack the stock airbox to breathe better.

Re: Cold Air Intake
Do you mean Injen style or Place Racing style? Injen is a warm air intake; PR is the only true CAI for our cars. It's hard to tell if there are actual gains from a CAI because dynos are done with the hood open, allowing any intake to be the same as a CAI. I'd like to contribute my opinion but when I install my CAI, I will also be installing the VI from a 2000 Maxima so my results will not reflect the CAI alone.

Re: Cold Air Intake
As in the hood propped open, not closed.
