wheel bearing

My back right wheel bearing went out on my 99 lude and i have to replace the whole hub.has anyone ever done this because i havent. A honda dealership wants a grip of money for doing it but i have a friend that will do it for a case of beer im just not sure if he can do it because hes never worked on a honda before. Do you need any special tools to do this?

I don't know if it's like a lude 4th gen. I had to change my (front-left bearing) a few months ago and I had to take it to a shop cause those bearing are compressed. :-(
