1997 Dodge Ram 1500 SS/T Fuse/Relay problem??
I just bought a 1997 Dodge SS/T. The previous owner took the relay/fuse out that controlled the sound when you left your keys in your ignition and opened your door, or left your lights on, etc. I know where to place the fuse/relay back and I have the original one. It is a really tight fit to try and put it back in and I pesonally have tried for about 30 minutes and can not get it to go back in. I think the metal plate that is right next to the fuse box is really blocking it from going in. The only way I can imagine he(previos owner) got the thing out was to go up under the dash and pull it out from behind the dash, because the thing wont fit going through the fuse panel opening. It looks like my only option my be to cut the metal bracket that is right next to the fuse box and try to hit the target straight on. I hate to cut into the metal, I guess I could take it to the dodge dealership here and see how much it would cost to put that fuse back, I would rather try and do it myself though.
Can anyone give me an idea of what to do to possibly get this fuse/realy back in. I would rather the vehicle let me know I have left something on or left my keys in the ignition before I lock the keys in it and have to pay a lock smith to come open her up for me. Any ideas? Thanks Bcubed |
