Side Marker/Bumer Lights

Are these actual lights or just for show? The reason I am asking is because neither of mine are on when I turn my lights on, and I thought it would be kind of weird that neither would work at the same time if they were actual lights. I did notice that there is a bulb inside, but I am confused as to why neither light up. Anybody else have this problem??
I guess it is possible that both could be burnt out, but I didn't want to go and start replacing bulbs if I didn't have to.

Re: Side Marker/Bumer Lights

Check to see if they are burnt!!!! duh!!! lol If they are , replace them!! Like 1stgenrocks said.. they are cheap!!
All they are is a marker light. If a cop wanted to be a dick they could ticket you. Probably wouldn't but still they could.

Buy some wicked cheap clear corners off of eBay! They add a lot, in my opinion.

Are you saying the ones like these are dumb?

Or the ones like these?

I was gonna order the top ones. I thought they looked a little newer and cleaner than the other ones.

Well thats why I was asking. And no I don't give a shit about a pair of $2 bulbs, but why go and start replacing shit if you don't need to? Does anybody know how you turn them on, if you have to do it manually? I'm 95% positive that they are not burnt out. On another note, I was also looking at the clear corner lights, but wtf are the shipping rates so high on ebay for? My god, to ship 5 oz of plastic costs $12? Will cost about $25 with shipping, which is bullshit. Anybody know where you can get them cheaper?

Re: Side Marker/Bumer Lights

The shipping rates are so high because that's part of the price. On ebay it's not really shipping. You just have to look at the total price, which is lower than other places. It doesn't matter if they're charging $1000 to ship a letter. If it's cheaper total, then it's cheeper.

Re: Side Marker/Bumer Lights

they are made by APC and can be bought at almost any autoparts store (checker)...i have the "glass clear" corners on my car and then i used spray tint to make them darker, looks pretty tight IMO.

Re: Side Marker/Bumer Lights

the bulbs are just normal ones from an auto parts store, fuck, even walmart carries them. they are the type you just push in without turning the bulb to "latch it into place" like the rear bulbs

| eclipse |
first of all, don't be a smartass when someone is trying to help you. go somewhere else if you're going to do that, we don't need to put up with that shit. secondly.... the bulbs should go on when you turn on your parking lights or head lights. they should also work with your blinkers. why not spend the $2 and eliminate that problem right away. it takes like a minute to replace each bulb and that would save you alot of worrying and typing on here. just pry off the lenses with a screwdriver or something cause they just snap in there and replace the bulbs. if they still dont' work then you have a wiring problem and that's alot harder to diagnose, so replace the bulbs and then come back.

Re: Side Marker/Bumer Lights

the side marker lights dont come on when the head lights are on, they just come on when you turn on your turn signal or blinkers. go turn on your turn signal and they should light up. and i dont think the just pop out do they? dont they have a screw?
