Help Sick trep IT IS FIXED
Thanks in advance for help !
97 intrepid 3.5L fault codes PO300 PO302 PO304 PO306 new coil , wires , plugs @ ,035 champion gold no vacume or manifold leak as far as carb cleaner test shows even tried 2nd coil and 2nd set of better wires still all codes above. at wits end car runs great strong and smooth check engine light won't stay off codes keep coming back. what am i not seeing here ?????? also needs a left rear wheel speed sensor (Abs light on) Could the 2 be related ?? THE SAGA CONTINUES : Now car has died ! engine control fuse blown, and replacement fuse blows too ! If i replace fuse with key on fuse is fine ! if i replace fuse with key off and turn key to on it blows ???? Ignition switch perhaps root of ALL problems . Any ideas. ?????? Re: Help Sick trep
P0300 - Random/Multiple Cyl Misfire Detected, that covers the other codes, seems weird though that the misfires are all on the same bank of cylinders as P0302 is Cyl #2, P0304 is Cyl #4 and P0306 is Cyl #6, the codes for misfiring in those respective cylinders. There are 3 coils on that engine, did you replace them all or are they replaced as packs? I wonder what would happen if you swapped the plug wire connections at the coils to the other terminals (Putting the top plug wire in the bottom tower and the bottom one in the top tower on each coil since the coils fire 2 cylinders at the same time) and get a misfire detection in 1, 3, and 5 (P0301, P0303, and P0305 codes) or would the same codes show?
You also might want to do a compression test on that bank, it just seems odd that the whole bank is misfiring. |

Re: Re: Help Sick trep
Coil pack has been replaced twice that isn't it ! coil plugs and wires are all out of the equation.
All misses on one bank is what is throwing me . 2 and 4 , or 4 and 6 i'd say head gasket . 2 , 4 and 6 not a head gasket. driving me nuts and broke Last edited by btacroft1; 03-16-2005 at 01:52 PM. |

Re: Help Sick trep
you must check for an intake leak or fuel rail gasket leak these engines are notorious for intake gaskets and also timing belt jump on one cam only and will run pretty good still but will miss on that bank also but my experience with these mostly intake gaskets to check it all i do is warm engine and at front of engine if you look closelly you can access the LOWER part of intake make sure you below intake and not intake plenum only then use propane
with a rubber hose and stick it under intake and open slowly listen for rpm change or engine sputter and for your short check behind engine by the rack and pinion and by your egr valve and also that fuse feeds your alternator field and feeds your auto shut down relay coil and load +to injectors give you an ideal where to look good luck |
