Lightbulb Quicker cam?

i have a 1994 Toyota Camry LE. Does anyone know how much it would cost/what would be good mods to start off with. I'm just trying to get the car to be a little bit faster . Any replys would be appreciated...

Depends how much power your looking for. If you want a good amount of power go with a vortech supercharger from rippmods.com or go turbo with burien turbo kit. For starters for running NA (Naturally Aspirated motor) Get intake, headers, and exhaust.

Check my cardomain:

You'll find some answers there.

Re: Quicker cam?

Calvin - I noticed that you have a front tower strut bar in your Camry. Did it make a significant improvement in handling? Did it fit exactly right? Worth the money? What brand did you use and where from? Same questions about the sway bars.

Not really...the only way you'll feel actual improvement in handling is dropping the car or having a sway bar. The strut bar is cheap anyways, it does help but you won't notice it. Name brand ones are just as good as the ebay ones. No real difference, aluminum bar.

I forgot to mention the strut bar is easy to install. Just 3 bolts on each side. Take those off and put the bar on and rebolt that's it. No name brand for those, for the sway bars I used TRD ones. Those you can find at Kinderhook Toyota for 150 shipped flat rate, really good investment. Adjustable too from street to track settings.

Re: Quicker cam?

Yeah, I figured it was just a bolt on. Thanks again.

For cheap mods that'll make your camry FEEL faster and more responsive..

Tighten the throttle kick down cable (move it to the black rubber stopper pointing to the passenger side), and it will make your transmission shift faster and harder. Don't be surprised if you feel jerks in between each shift, feels almost like a manual. Turning on the ECT will dampen the effects but still give you the same fast shift.

Intakes won't do crap for your car. The stock intake is already CAI and can handle alot of horsepower! But intakes do make your car sound more sporty if that's what you're into. I basically bought a 3" metal tube and made my own intake. (About $20) I cut a hole on the bottom of my stock filter box before, but now I have a CAI extention on a SRI.

Don't buy ebay chips, IAT resistor mods they don't work.

You will gain quite a bit of power (~10hp) by replacing your stock y-pipe with a wider one. You can also advance your timings from distributer by a few degrees and other simple mods to get a more responsive engine.
