Fuel smell low fuel light on

I have had the check engine light on for the last few months and just ignored it but now in the last couple days I smell gas when I get into my car and the low fuel light is on when I have a half tank of gas? Any ideas? Would this be the fuel pressure regulator valve? and is it easy to change I have a 99 sunfire gt 2.4 auto

and bring it to auto zone they will check your light. most likly if eberything still runs fine and works right it is going to be a sensor probably an o2.
