Question little black box

i was just wondering what a black box is doing under my driver seat. i own a 1995.0 isuzu rodeo. it looks like a black hard drive; it has a power cord and a data cord. does anyone know what this is?

i knew it! i knew it! it's a low jack and the cia is after me because i laundered 22.1 billion government dollars in multiple swiss bank accounts. jk

really, what is it?

Unless its some stock item I'm unaware of, it could be lots of things. Could be an alarm controller, a data collector, a tracking device. Does it have any writing on it?

yeah...it has some writing on it. it says "made in china"

it's weird...it's the most obscure box in the world. the only thing i could say is that it has a bar code and on the data/power adapter it has some writing that says "skn4466a"

i did some research and found out that it is a motorola power cable for III and IV series phones (it must be old). however, i wonder what that box is plugged into it...

off to do more research.

Hey,

What are you doing with my rodeo. I have the same thing in mine. It is probably an old style bag phone control module for an in car setup. I have a motorola gold series car phone in mine. (doesnt work anymore because of the change in technology.) I really liked that setup, handsfree and all. These new GSM digitals suck compared to the performance I got out of that phone.

If the wires are still connected, they should run under the carpet to the fuse box under the dash by your left foot. Another should run to where the antenae was mounted and another should run to where the handset was mounted.
