Remote Radio Switch '01

How do I replace a faulty remote radio switch that is located on the back left side of the steering wheel?

the entire steering wheel has to come off to replace that switch, my recommendation, go to either the dealership or someone who's certified to work on steering wheels.

In other words, it is worth the one hour labor the dealer wants to charge me.

yeah, leave it to the professionals, they have the tools and know-how to work on that kind of thing. Unless you have a steering wheel puller and know how to carefully work a clockspring, go for it; if not, don't add insult to injury.

The replacement switch looks like a beeze to install, a 2 wire connector (male) and 2 slots on 2 sides of the assembly. (push into place)

Re: Remote Radio Switch '01

you are right jjay442 unlike previous post you don't have to remove the steering wheel you can gently pry out switch it may be easier to remove air bag though just disconnect battery for 2 minutes first then remove 2 cruise switches then 2 screws torx heads then airbag comes off no sweat save yourself some cash i do this all the time
