Cams thats it.

I'm thinking of ordering cams for my b16a but have a few questions first. I heard when you put in cams your fuel mileage is destroyed, and if I should get them what brand should I get?

Re: Cams thats it.

What kind of money are you looking to put out?

What kind of power are you looking to make with them?

Research some companies and their cams (Skunk 2, Toda, Comp Cams, etc..) and see what you like.

Re: Cams thats it.

and your gas is only destroyed b/c you tend to drive lead footed after you put em' in, If you drive sensible you will still get good milage, unless you're going all out with high compression and really aggressive cams, then bumping up the fuel.

Re: Cams thats it.

What kind of cams did you have in mind, mild or race? Mild shouldn't really make any difference unless you are on the gas, and race shouldn't drop gas mileage much during "normal" daily driving. What brands are you looking at?

Re: Cams thats it.

well more power=less mpg, sometimes.. if you get cams with stock low-profile cam-lobes and stay out of vtec then your mpg should be the same.
