1.9L engine problems

i have a 95 for escort lx hatchback...and the engine will start uop and will run but with a clicking noise when just running or idleing...any help whith what i coukld be or what i need to replace i know its not the pistons or rods...any help @ all plz

If the noise is coming up through your intake manifold and sounds like an exhaust leak, it may be that your valve seats are on their way to destroying your engine. I'd suggest you stop driving it and get it checked out.

The clicking/tapping on mine was a lifter. couldnt hurt to check again

Get an arm's length piece of rubber hose and hold one end to your ear. Use the other open end to try and pinpoint where the noise is coming from. You can find lifer noise by removing the oil cap and listening through the opening.
