Fuel Guage in '98 Safari
Hi,
The fuel gauge in our '98 Safari has begun acting up: It moves around alot as the fuel sloshes around (it used to be more stable) and the needle is vibrating, making it look blurry. Is it the gauge, or the sending unit/pump assembly in the tank? A related question: My understanding is in '99 the switch was made to the 27 gallon fuel tank. Is the 27 gallon tank a bolt in retro-fit to the '98 van? Thanks, Bill |

Re: Fuel Guage in '98 Safari
My '92 Astro had a 27 gallon tank as an option. They went to a standard 27 gallon tank in '99, but I believe a 27 gallon tank will fit all Astro/Safari models, at least back to '92.

Re: Fuel Guage in '98 Safari
Mine turned out to be the fuel tank sending unit. The tines on the rheostat were stretched out after years of fuel slosh.
