Another Driver's Side Window Problem
I know this issue has been discussed a few times, but I getting conflicting information.
All of my window controls on the driver's side are not working. The switch on the passenger side seems to be working fine. So, I'm not sure if I should be focusing on the switch module on the driver's side, or the motor. I'm leaning towards the switch. How big of a job is this to change? Where can I find a wiring diagram or schematic? Thanks all |

Re: Another Driver's Side Window Problem
To change the switch on the driver's side all you need to do is gently pry up on the plastic panel that holds the switch on the door. Remove the wiring harness to the switch and then remove the switch from the trim panel. I had one do the same thing on one of my vans and it turned out to be the master switch on the driver's side also.Upon further research i discovered that it is a problem for these vans as water and moisture can affect the switch because of it's location,( and if you like to leave your windows open all the time, letting the rain in the vehicle.) If you can wait a few days, you might want to check prices locally, then online. I got a great deal on a GM switch from an online dealer, with shipping it was over $25 cheaper than any price I found locally.

Hello, I finally got my switch module from gmpartsdirect.com. I put it in and unfortunately, the problem is unchanged. I have no window control on the driver's side, but the passenger and lower/raise his window. Does anyone have wiring diagram for this system? Could this simply be a fuse issue? |

Not the fuse -- one fuse (circuit breaker actually) is used for both sides. From what I can see, your driver's side switch panel is probably NOT getting power (12 Volts) through the wire harness. My manual says it is supposed to come in on pin "H" of the connector of the driver's side (should be one of the corners on the connector) and pin "F" on the passenger side. My GM manual says the wire should be Yellow (but Haynes says Brown). I believe the passenger's side works because the 12 Volts comes directly from the circuit breaker to that switch panel through the wiring harness. But the "good news" is -- it appears that the ground for the passenger side switch actually comes through the driver's side switch. So the wiring between the left & right side is probably OK. I would use a meter (or test light) to see if the power is making it to pin "H". It should be there with the key in the "Run" position. I suspect a loose or broken connection. I will post another note once I have the schematic on the web, but let me know if you find the problem first. Take care,

You can find the schematic/wiring diagram here:
http://www.links-to-golf.com/van/dri...-switches.html I also confirmed that the color of the wire is yellow (at least on my 2001). Take Care,
