Fuel level sensor
Has anyone found a way to replace or fix the stock fuel level sender so that it's not so erratic? It drives me friggn crazy moving from 3/4 a tank to 1/2 in a half a second....stays at 1/2 for a day without much movement, and all of a sudden is almost empty within seconds.
Is there an aftermarket one thats more consistant? Or a fix to the stock one? |

The aftermarket pump assembly I have is made by Carter (Federal-Mogul), and the level sensor is completely different from the stock A.C.Delco unit (not interchangeable). The Carter sensor unit is a more robust design than the A.C.Delco unit. (~$300.00 at Napa, the 4 door assembly is $30.00 less than the 2 door assembly) Whichever way you go, make sure you get the correct pump assembly or level sensor unit, as they are different units for 2 door and 4 door models. After having to drop the tank 3 times over the past 4 weeks, I got the changeout down to a 2 hour task. |
