transmission shifting

i just bought this 95monte carlo z34. can someone tell me if the trans is electric shift or vaccum.

also i am having a problem with start up. when my car has been sitting for a period of time, i have a bad miss. but when it warms up it does fine. i have put new plugs and wires on it. the missing is at low rpms once the rpms reach 2000 it does fine, no miss

Re: transmission shifting

your car could be either, as they used both in 95. give me the last eight digits of your vin number, and I can tell you what trans you have.

to me my problem seems to be electrical. after the car has down shifted it will not go in to overdrive again. if you pull up to a red light, and turn the car off, and on again, it will go in to overdrive, but kicks out in a short distance. if you only put it in park at a light it will not go into overdrive. what do yall think

Re: transmission shifting

I would suggest that you take your car to a trans. shop and have it scanned by a computer our automotive shop. before you loose your trany. Because it could be a couple different sensor and they could help find witch one.
