Radio Bezel Removal

Hallo,
I want to remove the Radio for changing it with a CD Radio and have the problem to remove the Plastic Cover of the center console on a 2001 Montana. The upper part comes loose but I donīt know how to remove the lower end. I already removed the two bolts at the slide-out cupholder but the whole thing doesnīt come of. Does anybody have any Ideas ?

There are two MORE screws that need to be removed to get that thing out. They are hidden near the back of the cupholder on the INSIDE of the console. I wish I had taken some pictures when I had it apart, but didn't.

If your console is like the Venture that I have, you have to remove the LOWER section of the console first (cassett/CD tray in mine). I think there are two screws that hold this section in place (near the back). Once the screws are out, this lower piece will slide forward.

Because of the power outlets on mine, I had to remove the back plastic part (of the lower section) by pushing on the plastic tabs that hold it in place. I could then slide that lower section out of the way to get to the hidden screws.

These screws point straight up. You will need a flashlight and may have to put your face right in there to see them. Make sure the cupholder is pulled all the way out or you will not see them. Unscrew those two screws and the trim cover should come out easily.

I hope this helps. If I haven't explained it properly just let me know and I will try again.

Good luck,
