Power window speed

I have a 2000 MGM and I find that all of the windows speed varies with the temperature out side. The colder it gets the slower all the windows go. this can get to the point where the windows almost don't make it up and down. Does any one know a fix for this problem or is it one of those things I have to live with... I hope I am not alone with this problem and some one out there can help.

My 2000 GM has the same problem. When the outside temperature is lower than 25 degrees F. or so, they become painfully slow to roll up. The charging system is working fine. I took the car to the dealer and their solution was to spray the window guides with silicone. That didn't help. I think the motors are just too weak.

Anyone other ideas out there?

Re: Power window speed

I live in Canada where the temperature qets down to -40 F. The window tracks (Guides) come coated from factory with white lithium grease. Unfortunatly, this grease type freeze. I have cleaned the guide with solvent and replace the white lithium with synthetic grease. Dialectric grease (Clear grease also used for lubricating disk brakes and ignition components) works fine too.
Cheers
JC
