Hot Amp?
im going to be putting my amplifiers under an artificial floor in my hatch... i was planing on leaving about an inch to two inches form the top pf the amp to the floor, does anyone know if my amps (2) will get too hot under the floor? should i put two of those little computer fans in the floor (one blow in, one blow out)? or maybe jsut leave alittle space or soemthing? someone help.

Re: Hot Amp?
what kind of amps are they? how many amps? some you can just have vents in the floor others you will need fans. it also depends on how long and hard you will be running them

Re: Hot Amp?
I would put in fans if you going to be running that many amps and that much power in a tight little space.

Re: Hot Amp?
Well, those cheap0 'Bahn amps have a weak power supply. So, that means it generates heat and a lot of it when pushed hard. Heat is not your friend. Make sure to have plenty of air movement.

Re: Hot Amp?
Yeah, Audiobahn is notorious for getting really hot. I would say do what you can to keep it cool. The cooler you get it the better. You could make the false floor, except cut a whole out of it and flush mount the amps in, then it looks cool and it will really help with heating.

Re: Hot Amp?
also thought about false floor and covering the amps with plexiglass doors with holes in them. i figured that would gett the things pretty well vented and on exceptionally hot days, i could even leave the door open.
