Left from Clunk or Pop noise
This is a great forum and has helped me several times. I now have a 99 suburban (old body style) with what sound to me like a pop or clunk in the front end. It has the 5.7 and is 4WD. The noise occurs mostly when I come to a complete stop. Usually after I let off the brake and apply the accelerator the noise can be heard and felt through the steering wheel and the drivers side floor pan. I can also feel it through the brake pedal when turning at slow speeds.
I have replaced the pitman and Idler arms and the brakes are newer (made the place I bought it from replace them). It occurs more as the vehicle becomes warmer. Could this be a similar problem to the newer silverado with the intermediate steering shaft? Any help is Greatly Appreciated Thanks Greg

Re: Left from Clunk or Pop noise
Upper and Lower Ball Joints? I replaced mine at 147,000 miles but they could have needed replacement as early as 125,000 miles. 96' Z71 All Stock

This was a great find only 50K and should not need them yet, but I will check them when I get a chance

Re: Left from Clunk or Pop noise
Figured it out, was a loose control arm bolt. Was causing the poping noise in the front end and some residual rattling. Just an update for anyone interested
