considering buying a 240sx in the future...

hey guys i have a honda civic but its too old and bla, plus engine swaps for it just wont give the kind of torque and other power i want in lower rpms. so if anybody has a dyno chart of a near stock 240sx that'd be cool, and a dyno for one with the sr20det swapped in. any other pros or cons on the car would be appreciated

oh, and how does a S13 cost? give me some figures for body conditions and milage amounts cos i wont be swapping an engine asap. thx!

if you hurry up then there is a pretty good looking one on ebay right now http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=1814515025 for a decent price. But the S13's around here usually go for about 3k with around 90-100k miles on them.

Stock KA24DE's put down 129HP at the wheels and 135 lbs of torque at the wheels...

SR20DET's make 205HP, 220HP, or 250HP at the flywheel depending upon the year you buy...

So that roughly translates into about 165HP at wheels, 180HP at wheels, and 215HP at the wheels...

But dont let yourself be fooled...SR's make wonderful HP gains so you can get them to make 300RWHP w/just basic bolt ons, upped boost, and bigger injectors (as I have preached b4)

the sr20 engine is a good engine. but it has some set backs. it has an aluminum block, so if you want to bore it out or do much engine work to it, you have to get sleeves put in it which can be salty. and if you look at the specs. the sr20 is a 2.0 liter, and the original engine is a 2.4 i think. all the sr20 has is a turbo, wouldn't it just be smarter to put a turbo in the original engine and upgrade from there. maybe i have it wrong but it makes sense to me, thats what i am gonna do when i get my 240!!!!i can't wait!!!!:flash:
