Can you use them to read and clear DTC's on any vehicle or just the one it was first used for??

Nope they only do tuning. Although I was watching a show the other day and they make a programmer that does tuning and reads codes. However I don't remember the name and I'm not sure if they make it for Camaros.

no, you CAN read and erase diagnostic trouble codes with the power programmerIII But will the DTC reader only work for the vehicle that the programmer was bought for??

I have one for my 96 SS and it does not read codes for the car. Maybe the newer ones do, but the one I have does not.

I just checked, only the LS1 programmers read DTC's..
