tranny problem

my tranny wont shift to 1st gear and wonder why..anyone know

make sure u r completely stopped, the clutch is all the way disengaged. then if it doesn't go into first, try going into 3rd then right into 1st. not necessarily fast, but just w/o going to 2nd in between.
the reason u'r havin trouble w/ 1st is u'r synchro for 1st is shot. could try changing the tranny fluid, and that MIGHT help, but it won't change the fact that the synchro is messed up/worn out. can be fixed.
