how can I tell if my car has a keyless entry?
my 99 LE camry did not come with an owners manual and the owner said that he lost the remote starters....
I ordered 2 of them off ebay for 25 bucks, and it came with directions to program it and I can not get it to work..... |

Re: how can I tell if my car has a keyless entry?
99 Camry didn't come with a remote start. in fact no camry came with a remote start. do you mean a keyless entry. when you got the remotes did you match the FCC ID# on the remote to the one on the "brain" of the alarm (should be under the driver seat). I programmed my remote with my 97 camry and it worked perfectly fine. get back with me I am sure that I can help.

I just talked to a toyota dealer and he said that the 99 keyless entries did not come with a panic button on the back, that feature didnt come out til later. Thats what I got off of EBAY, the link you gave to me in GreenMachine95's thread, I think I got ripped off...
how much would it cost to get a keyless entry off of a dealer and to have it programmed in for me? |

Re: how can I tell if my car has a keyless entry?
I priced mine at the local toyota dealer and they quated me an $80 remote and a $35 Labor fee(program) All that you have to do is to look under the driver seat and find the FCC ID on th "brain" of the alarm. it should be written on the top or bottom of the box. The brain is a small black or grey box. Go to ebay and look up that FCC ID# then order that remote. If you need help with programing it just email me at [email protected] and I will be more than happy to help you out.

Re: Re: how can I tell if my car has a keyless entry?
look under the hood for a alarm horn. it should be placed under the hood directly in front of the driver by the firewall. If you do not see one then you most probably do not have a alarm nor a Keyless entry. Also just out of curiosity is your camry a ce, le, or xle?

Re: how can I tell if my car has a keyless entry?
Ok here is a place that has the remote for cheap.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...spagename=WDVW If you are not satisfied with this one then look up on google "1999 toyota camry fcc id" and it will give you some other remotes at different prices, but ebay is the way to go. This one is the cheapest that I could find not on ebay. http://www.autotechs.com/items/item452.htm Here is another site for programing instructions. http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...d.php?t=126305 This is really all that I could find out there. I am sorry if this is not of help. |
