rebuilt transmission issues
My 95 Explorer transmission was rebuilt by certified tech in Oct 04 2004. Had issues with it so had it checked out by same tech and it checked out. Recently, hard shifting seemed to be worse (or most noticeable) when decelerating. So had it checked for a second time by tech who drove it and said he had no problems with it maybe b/c it was cold and had been sitting on lot all day and took it for a short drive. But when out of town, the transmission had gotten much worse and O/D light is now blinking on and off as it originally had and seems worse than the original tranny. So it is with the tech now and he mentioned this morning that it may have seemed worse b/c when the O/D light comes on it throws the computer into a safely mode and more abrasive. Can anyone provide me with a little more knowledge on the subject so I'm not stuck with a temporary quick fix that is going to bite me after warranty runs out? No leaking, and fluid level ok. Thanks in advance.

new computer
tech says slipping into 3rd, and that codes giving the incorrect 3rd gear ratio error. thus, outdated computer needs to be replaced.
250 bucks. is this typical with 95s? i was under impression that computer was unrelated. |

computer
Is the stock 95 explorer computer nonreprogramable? I am not aware of any updates to the original computer that make buying a new/updated computer the answer.

I have also noticed hard shifting after about 20 miles of hot temperature freeway driving. However, I think that it may be related to the Transfer Case and not the transmission. |
