how much should i expect to pay to get the timing chain cover gasket (lower front main seal) of a 350ci v8 replaced/repaired? any ballpark figure would be nice to i know if i am getting too ripped off or not. thanks ahead of time.

$100-$200 depending on how they do it, $100 if they just drop the pan and replace the seal, $200 if they remove the pan, clean all gasket rails and put all new gaskets in.
Count on even more if they have to actually remove the timing cover, that involves removing accessories, water pump, crank pulley, harmonic balancer and finally the timing cover. |
