well if u have a short throw (after market) in your car then it may have backed the bolts into your slots where the stick is locked into place and u may need to adjust them, if its stock then either your clutch is going, or your lock mechanism may be screwed up some how.(thats if the v6 has that) i know the 8 has a safty mech that keeps it locked into place to avoid that happening but like i said im only going by what i know about v6's. you may be able to adjust your shifter like i said if its not the stock one. their are two bolts on the base of the shifter one at the top, one at the bottom that u loosen or tighten to set how far u want your throw, when i put mines in i didnt adjust it and 2 days later i could only shift into my top gears, 1,3,and 5, that sucked ass then i was told to adjust the bolts and it was back to normal ( not poping out of gear or grinding) i hope u have aftermarket and thats what it is because clutch work aint fun nor cheap!
