Thinking about putting a...

Was thinking about putting a sub(s) in my car but don't want it to sound shitty. Want as little rattling as possible just to get a little bass behind the music. Any suggestions on brand, model that type of thing? also Components speakers?

get a 10" sub and a good amp rated at about 150-200 watts rms. This will give you good thump without rattling your fillings loose.

well I say get 1 or 2 alpine or rockfordfosgate subs and I think 12" r best because they sound the best because 10" don’t push enough air and 15" push too much air so their is allot of distortion and get dual voice coil and 2ohm.

Well, I do agree on the 6x9 thing but not ..."a good brand like Audiobahn." Sorry but when their "high end" 6x9's only run me about $19, there can't be much quality. Actually, I've had many quality issues with their stuff.

I'v never had a problem with them but I like to learn new things. Who would you say has the best brand? I havent tryed everything but I do love good music that and when someone is buggin me I can just turn up the music. It's my nice way to say shut up.

There's not really a "best brand" per say out there. you just need to go to the store and listen to the different speakers they have on display. I have Cerwin-Vega 6X9's in the rear, rockford fosgate 5.25 components with tweeters up front, and a 12" DVC rockford in the trunk. The sub has about 380 RMS watts going to it and the 6X9's are also powered with about 50W RMS to each. I did this specifically for clarity and loud mid-range performance, and no matter how loud I turn it up, it never distorts.

If you're really just looking for some clean, tight musical bass, I would reccomend getting an Infinity Basslink. It's basically a 10" in a custom designed enclosure with a built-in amp. The whole box is about 12x12x8, so it won't take up very much room in the trunk. Also, it comes with all the wires you need for installation, and can hook up to your factory system easily. It has speaker-level inputs, so you can merely tap into the wires going to your rear speakers. It retails for just under 300 bucks, and I think it is one of the best deals out there for easy, accurate, clean bass that won't overpower your factory speakers.
