Re: Help

any CEL? Any timing chain noise or strange noises? which coil did you replace, it's a one piece unit under the engine cover.
you HAVE to dealer it to get codes, I know, been there.
you didn't mention the O2 sensor or the Map sensor. The O2 could need to be changed, they do need it once in a while, and they help control fuel delivery.

I just had to replace my 2.3L due to the balance shaft unit going out. If you have a major mechanical issue, do NOT replace the motor with a 95 2.3L, go to someplace like Mantapart (mantapart.com) and get a 2.3L HO with the conversion chip, the earlier 2.3L were MUCH stronger than the 95's, and you get AT LEAST 30 to 40 more HP.

in the meantime dealer it and find out what is out of wack, the motor will live for 190,000mile at least (mine did) before anything major happens.

Oh and greetings from a fellow 2.3LGT owner
