Cool AMXtreme!!!!

Started this one 3 weeks ago. It's a curbside build of the Testors/Johan AMX. Rims are Aoshima Kranze Borphes with centers paintd Tamiya TS Gunmetal and Pegasus brakes. Paint is Tamiya TS Pearl White, Metallic Red and Metallic Light Blue and Tamiya Clear. Polished with 4000 grit and Wizards Finish Cut.

Windows are clear and tinted .010 PVC glued in with CA. Interior has AMT 1988 Mustang door panels and AMT Coronet Pro Street bucket seats. Straight pin shifter and reverse lock out. Photoreduced Auto Meter gauges and Pioneer CD player. MCG photoetch billet steering wheel on an Arrowhead billet column.

Now I have 5 days to finish the Cuda before the MCMA Showdown in Dallas TX!!! Enjoy, Marc

You made my day with this AMX. I've been working on an AMX myself in a quasi vintage pro touring style (Minilites out of the AMT 1971 Mustang kit - only usuable parts in the whole kit, too -, Revell Saleen Mustang seats that match the side panel upholstery and so on) and it's been murder filling the holes in the hood since it was the damn Shirley Shahan kit.

You've given me a good target to work towards. I love the classic SCCA Penske Trans-Am color scheme on the car. I wouldn't have used those wheels, honestly, but the car looks great.

If you aren't happy with your hood, Best Resin offers a repop of the stock Javelin/AMX hood. http://www.bestresin.com/index.html

I used a stock hood from an old built up AMX I got from ebay.

The gauges are from pictures I saved on my computer from Summit Racing's website. I smooth the back of the dash and drill out the gauges. I then resize the images of the Auto Meters and print them on photo paper, then I attach them to the dash from the backside.

The rims are Aoshima 19" Kranze Borphes. These were released late in 2004 and you can probably find some on ebay. Good luck!!!
