sub questoin
Hello
I am right now in the process of making a custom sub box for my dodge dakota and curious if you can run an 12 in. sub and a 8 in. with a mono amp? thank you |

Re: sub questoin
Don't mix and match. Get 2 10's instead.

Re: sub questoin
yeah, you dont want to do that. you would be splitting the power from the amp to each sub. and you would send too much power to the 8. assuming that the 12 is rated higher. if they happen to be rated the same and are the same impedence then it would work. but it might not sound very good.

Re: sub questoin
You will get cancellation and it will sound like shit. Look into two of the exact same subs...like stated above. peace

Signals that are out of phase will cancel one another according to the difference in phase in degree When two speakers are overlapped too much, playing a lot of the same frequencies...it happens. THEORETICALLY, you could crossover each properly to different frequencies...but it is ENTIRELY un-needed and with todays woofers...it accomplishes nothing. peace NG |
