How much weight can I load in my CRX

How much weight can I safely load in the back of my CRX Si, stock engine with 190k miles. It is lowered 2 inches. I was wanting to load 500 pounds, will it be able to carry the load?

Re: How much weight can I load in my CRX

it could probably handle it, just think it has the same suspention as a civic, but a civic is able to carry 4 people, most full grown males wiegh like 200ish pounds and i used to carry 4 people in my hatch without trouble.

Re: How much weight can I load in my CRX

you can load a whole lot in there, I moved from Pa to Miami with all of my stuff in my lowered rex.
It sat like half an inch off the ground and destroyed my shocks... but driving wasn't a problem.

The manual states that a CRX weight capacity is 400lbs.

I found this in an aftermarket manual.

"The payload capacity of all Civic model years, incuding CRX and Del Sol, is less than or equal to the combined mass of 2 fat chicks. (Equal to approximately 400 lbs US, or 180 kilos). Attempting to cram more than 2 fat chicks into any Civic may cause death or suffocation and will void the manufacturer's warranty."

Also known as the "2 Fat Chick Rule"

Sorry, I just couldnt resist.
