car starts and stalls!

Hi! i have a problem the other morning i went to start the car and it would start and then stall right away.To make it run i have to keep the gas pedal pushed for a few minutes(one or two ). And this morning i went to start it and it ran fine no problems.What can cause this problem .Thanxs in advance.

my car is a grand am gt 1996 and it has a 3.1 v6
