Re: Jay Leno's 1,070 hp 1966 Oldsmobile Toronado
I saw the Leno Toronado earlier in last months editionof Hot Rod magazine.
If I had millions of dollars, I would end up building cars just like what he ends up with. Very impressive. Also those 66 Toros are very nice and unique. I would love to have one. |

Re: Jay Leno's 1,070 hp 1966 Oldsmobile Toronado
but jays tornado isnt really a tornado its just a body!!! the frame, suspension, and everything is pure corvette!!
its the same as a guy putting a volkswagon bug in a blazer frame and calling it a 4wd bug!!!

I wonder what it must be like to watch those dual turbo chargers make your fuel gauge go down as your speedometer rises...

I saw Jay Leno and his Toronado on TLC's RIDES and it was awesome. He performed an incredible burnout on a closed course after the car was finished.
Here is a different 66 Toronado.

GM's new Performance Build Center in Wixom, Michigan hand-built the twin-turbo V-8 for Jay Leno's beast. The new aluminum Corvette Z06's 505 hp LS7 and Cadillac's new 4.4 liter supercharged Northstar V-8 are both hand-built there.
