ITR Engine/Tranny + 5th Gen Civic

Just something I've been mulling over for a while peepz. I know you can fit an Integra VTi-R engine into a 5th gen's bay. Is it therefore possible/easy/difficult to fot an ITR engine in? I am seriously thinking of doing this in 18 months. What do you think? What is the availability of ITR engines? Where would I get it from? WHo could do the swap? Croyden? What is the engine code for the ITR engine (eg VTi-R is B18C1). Any questions, comments or advice...

Yes very possible.

It is very pricey though....ITR engines range from about 6K up!!

Like I said before, my cousin's did a jap spec ITR swap into a CRX.

For that much money doing a swap and all the hassle involved, I would consider just buying the ITR itself.

Yup - the engine is far to expensive fo an extra 15bhp over the VTiR.

Someone better check me on this - VTiR = 180bhp, ITR = 195bhp?

Remember, the reason ITRs are so quick is the whole package - not just the engine.

Why the difference?? What is availability of both like? What is the difference in price? Is it any more difficult installing either engine?

JDM ITR is 200P/S = approx 197bhp off the top of my head (from the Honda History site). I am fairly certain our ITR is slightly less.

Maybe the VTiR is 175bhp which doesn't seem much more than the B16A and certainly not much compared to the 170bhp EG SiR B16A. Have you thought of that as the swap? A lot cheaper and if you get a front cut then you're set.

Damn - thunder storm and I can hear my car alarm screaming - oh well - all the units needed to be woken up

It's under a carport but the thunder was right overhead - shook the building and set the motion detector off on 3 or 4 cars

Oz - the figure are off the Honda history site so I'm pretty certain ITRs aren't surer powerful, but they own WRXs etc on the track based on handling and brakes plus power - that's their magic
