2000 G.Caravan Electrical Problems
My 2000 Grand Caravan is having some problems where the dome lights are intermittently flashing, the rear hatch door open symbol on the dash comes on, and the power door locks are automatically locking frequently even when the van is parked.
We just recently bought the van and the problem just started happening. It seems like a door solenoid or switch issue but I am not sure. Has anyone seen this issue or have a clue on what I should check? Any help would be appreciated. |

Due to the number of electrical symptoms I would check the harness connectors for cleanliness, and make sure the connector is secure at the firewall.

I tried covering the metal plate on the frame near where the sliding door closes with tape. This cut off the door locks so they wouldn't work at all, but the dome lights and indicator lights still malfunctioned. My windshield washer also stopped around the same time, but this may be unrelated. Can you tell me what are, and where are, the harness connectors and the firewall? I'll trying cleaning too and see if it works. Thanks. |
