Air Intake and Exhaust
I was wondering if anyone has added air intake and/or exhaust to their TJ. I am thinking about putting some money into mine but I would like to hear from those who have some expierence with it. Does it improve performance? gas mileage? And also for exhaust, which sounds the best without killing my wallet
Thanks for your help.

Re: Air Intake and Exhaust
Hey Justin,
The stock header on my '97 Wrangler cracked so I installed a complete exhaust (including the header) from Pacesetter. It's been on for about a year and a half. It didn't line up well with the stock mounts and it isn't holding up well even though I only drive the Jeep ~5k a year. Granted I'm in the N.E. but if I had to do it over again I would have spent the extra money on a stainless from Borla for sure. Hope this helps. |

Re: Air Intake and Exhaust
I've had the TurboCity Intake with K&N filter for about 80k miles ('98 4L) -- got better mileage and a little more power. Recently I installed a cat-back Gibson exhaust and gained some more power. The exhaust note was nice -- I could barely hear the difference at idle (it was deeper, but not louder). Under heavy throttle, I could definately hear the exhaust, but it wasn't obnoxiously loud.
