Re: speaker fitting question

you have plenty of room, if you bottom out the speaker, get a spacer and longer bolts, there is enough room to fit a 6 to 8" sub if you make extra mounts. But for what your talking about just get spacers and longer bolts and any 6 1/2 can fit but most don't need spacers

Re: speaker fitting question

seince they are just 6 and a halfs, go a head and router out the bottum of the mount if need be, you dont need an airtight seal like you do with a sub

my alpine 6.5's wouldnt fit in the back so i bought a little saw and used a drill and cut out the bottom, they sound unreal.

i widened the top plastic piece (what the speaker is actually mounted to) to actually fit the speaker into it, then cut out a fairly large portion of the bottom of the big lower plastic pieces (that mount to the car).

hopefully that makes sense. it did take me a while to get it all done, so i dont know if doing spacers or whatever would be easier. i dont think the sq will be drastically different either way, so its just whatever you wanna do really.

Are you talking about door speakers or rear speakers? In the rear i have all kinds of room where the speakers are, in the doors is a different story though.

Re: speaker fitting question

my crx came w/ 5x7 or something like that, it's a odd size. i put the x plode comp. 6 1/2's and had plenty of room to spare. I had 6x9's in there at one time but it sounded like crap cause they hit the plastic cover and were distorted but i could have made them fit if i wanted to.

Here's my first attempt at glass pods for 6.5" comps. They're off alittle but dont rattle and sound great. Fairly easy project if you dont mind the stench and take your time.

Re: speaker fitting question

cool, 5% is 5% and 2.5 is 2.5, its the amount of uv light alowed to pass through, the only advantages to a shop doing it are 1 its guarenteed, and 2 the tint is thicker, but other then that its the same thing... but its already done, post up some pic's lol

Re: speaker fitting question

haha my rear speakers are held in there by bunched up newspaper, its pretty ghetto haha..when i bought my crx the speaker brackets in the back werent there and i was too lazy to go to a junkyard and get them so i wired the speaker in and shoved a bunch of newspaper in there so it wouldnt move around and rattle haha.
