Is this normal?

When i take the RPM's up past about 5200 on my car, the car doesn't seem to pull at all. I would think that it would give me more pull if I went over that. Is this normal?

youre out of your power band at those RPMs and it would make little sense to keep accelerating after then so you should shift after you stop felling it pull. you can get adjustable cam gears and retard your timing to shift your power band closer to the higher RPMs.

this isnt so complicated........change your damn air filter, and see what happens, maybe a k&n replacment filter or a cheap ass short ram intake. cheap doesnt always mean worse! I actually own a 1986 accord lx-i 5spd hatch (i also own a 92 civic), she is being worked on right now, just getting her ready for this up coming racing season. if all else fails your timing could be waaaaaaay off, do you have a problem idling? remember, honda's are built with high end power in mind, the 2.0si motor does have some pretty kick ass torque for what it is.

i agree, sounds logical, also i think too much high end power sacrafices low end power which i wish i had more of.

The air filter is like new. My car doesn idle rough, but i thought that was due to the 4 or 5 rust holes in my cat back exauhst. My timing was just fixed, that ass who worked on it before, put the damn thing 15 degrees in advance. The car idle's fine at about 1200 rpm, but when it get's any lower, it shakes really bad. it will drop and act like it's not getting enough gas, and then the computer will adust the idle to about 1200 where it works well. What could cause this?

check ur oil level it may be low and burning oil and do u have a vtec?

i would have to agree with the airfilter maby being the issue , maby there is something blocking it, is it stock, if it is it should be an airbox with a tube runing out the side where the air enters it, I had a 92 accord that i had same problem with , airfilter was good but then i noticed that the rags i keep in the engine bay where missing ( i use them for checking fluids and wiping down ect...) turned out they got sucked in the tube and was cloging it up
