interior lights wont go out

2000 Cherokee interior lights won't go out after ignition turned off, key removed, doors closed and locked. Tried removing interior bulbs to prevent overnight battery draining, but battery's dead after 2 days of inactivity. is there a way to check whatever control module handles the timing of the interior lights shut-off?

Go out to your Jeep and grab hold of the headlight switch and turn it clockwise until it clicks. The lights will go out.
