Should I get my Brake Pads changed??

I have a 2004 Ford Taurus with 14700 miles, should I get my brake pads changed? I only hear sqweaking in the morning when I am sbacking out of my garage and applying the brakes.

your brake pads are probably fine, the squeaking you're hearing is probably just dust or rust getting worn off the rotors during the first braking after sitting.

I agree with drdisque. 15K miles is awfully early for dead pads. What you can do, though, if you have alloy rims, is just have a look at your rotors and pads through the wheels. If you notice that the pads are terribly thin, or particularly if the rotors are scored, then your car needs work. But since you say it only happens in the morning as you back out, yeah, it sounds like it's just squeaking from lack of use.

I just got my car back from the dealer for a warranty repair; it's been in there for 4 days. As I backed out, the brakes squeaked horribly until I used them a few times. Then the sound went away and all was well.
