Question drive belt

I have an 98 isuzu rodeo. I recently changed the alternator out. Now I can't get the drive belt to adjust correctly. Haynes manual has been absolutely useless with this. Any tips

Re: drive belt

are you having problems getting the belt on?

I use a socket wrench and a 2 foot pipe on the end to release the tensions on the belt tensor.
