95 4x4 question!!!
I have a 1995 Chevy Silverado 1500. I have the Z71 package with the floor mounted 4x4 stick below the center console. My question is how do I properly enter my truck into 4 wheel drive? From the bottom up, the 4x4 stick reads: 4H, N, 2H, 4L. In the owner's manual it is real confusing as far as the directions. So if anyone has a truck of my type or knows anything about the 4x4 could u please list the steps I need to follow in order to properly get it into 4 wheel drive. For some reason, if u put it in wrong, the truck will still give an extra lurch when u put it into drive even though the front 2 wheels arent activated. So I need to know the EXACT way to engage it. Please help!!!

Re: 95 4x4 question!!!
Do you know if you have manual locking hubs or self locking? the best way is put it in 4x4 with the truck stopped, shift your transmission in neutral and shift 4x4 shifter in either 4h or 4L then put the trans in gear.

Re: 95 4x4 question!!!
i dont think they still make manual hubs do they? my 94 burban can be poped in and out of 4high wheel drive on the fly. do you have the lights on the floor? if so turn the headlight on when you put it in four wheel drive the lights for the front wheels will light.
