Leaking waer pump
Funny. I noticed a sponsored link at the bottom of another water pump thread for a class action investigation of GM for using dex cool.
Anyways... my local chevy dealer wants $170(labor only) to install a new delco water pump into my 99 Silverado 4.8. I have been told that the AC has to be disconnected(freon recovery) to get the water pump off. Is this true? I'd do it myself, but not if AC is involved. |

Re: Leaking waer pump
Thanks Rammer, looks like any other water pump install. I just wondered if that A/C comment had any credibility.
Thanks for the very detailed instructions!

Re: Leaking waer pump
Swapped the water pump yesterday, not much to it at all except for unscrewing that dang fan off the pulley.... that was not fun.
Thanks for the help!
