Alright so I was told that with some mods with motor mounts and everything....-changing the engine bay I can put a gtp 3800 in my cavy but, my transmission I was told needs to be changed. I don't believe they made a gtp with a 5 speed tranny but would it work if I got a 5 speed for another pontiac car and put that in? Would that work? If so recommendations or anything??? Has anyone done this before? Please give me some tips or ideas or even options on what else I could do just to get this car wasting tires. Thanx

Re: Tranny for a hp engine
Nope the never made a 5spd GTP, u will have to put a automatic tranny in with the 3.8. My buddy and I have tired to find a standard GTP but they dont make any grand prix standard if u think im wrong i would try calling pontiac.

Thanx, for the input I found out from another friend that they don't make one (definitely) but the tranny that they used was a 2000 sunfire 5 speed tranny. Now the thing I'm not sure about now is whether it has to be a 2000 or would another earlier year work?
