Thumbs up Let's USE the subforums!

I think a lot of us have gotten away from using the subforums. When I go down the main thread list and see questions about CD player hookups and lowering cars and the like, it just clutters up the main page.

Re: Let's USE the subforums!

i agree...using the subforums will get you answers quicker and more than likely won't be missed. that's why there are subforums for different topics. i've been a member here for a while now, even though i have about 300posts, and it's not hard to follow rules and use subforums! this is a place for information and help. i would also like to thank all of the people that have helped me out on my problems A LOT....one other thing i would like to add is for the people with no signatures! please, if you're going to use these forums and post, have your car information in your sig!! you will get more accurate answers more quickly. instead of people asking you "well, what model/year car is it? what transmission?" help us to help you

Re: Let's USE the subforums!

Yea i agree as well there, Joe. However, it seems as if no one ever answers a question in the subforums. I rarely ever post in the subforums anymore and if i do its only little questions that i feel that need to be answered fast. But like i said, i think a lot of people have the mentality that if they post in the subforums, their post well not be looked at.

Re: Let's USE the subforums!

I check the subforums every time I log on. I stayed away from the problem diagnosis section for a while just because I get tired of hand holding every now and again and need a break to just answer the fun questions But wether the post was in the main section or the problem section, I would have ignored it just the same. My point is, you might as well use the subforum. People that know how to diagnose problems will use the problem diagnosis forum if they wish to help in that regard. You might get fewer "views," but if those poeple only care about or know about body kits and sound systems, you haven't missed anything most likely. I'm all for poeple using the subforums. And putting car info in the damn sigs.

Re: Let's USE the subforums!

I got tired of spending 30 mins every day moving them, but I'll try to start doing it again.

Re: Let's USE the subforums!

hey joe this is slightly offtopic but is there a way to have a automatic spellchecker on every post? this would be pretty nice since i think a lot of people (like me) end up going back and editing their posts to fix stupid crap

Re: Let's USE the subforums!

Not that I am aware of. On large posts, it's probably worth the time to type it in a word processor and spellcheck there. Nobody is going to blame you for mistakes, though

Control A, control C, control V, are all your friends. Makes moving large bodies of text a snap. I toss it into a text document at home (right click on desktop, new, word document) or an outlook message at work (since outlook is the forum of choice for POSR while at work).

Kind of the same subject. Whenever I get a chance to look at the sub forums, there all postwhore answers, like "I don't know, but hopefully you find out", and its gettin old real quick. And im not sure why people think its so hard to use a sub forum. Wouldnt they get the best answer in the sub thats more to there Q?
