Problems with my tib

I got an 04 4 cylinder tiburon in august of 04. Everything was fine until 4k miles when i put a CAI on my car and then drove through a puddle it bent a rod, and i'll just say i'm lucky with only that. I could still drive my car and the next day i brought my car to hyundai, where they replaced the engine head, and transmission for free (warranty). I got my car back about 8 days later. Then one day at around 15k miles it started squeaking. I had a power steering leak, brought it to hyundai, and they fixed it. Then I noticed that something wasn't right, and i got to looking at my engine, and there wasn't a bolt holding my oil dipstick in, and the car was leaking oil. ( i dont think that they put the screw back in when they put the new engine in.) I found a screw and put it in, no more problems there. Then about 2 and a half weeks ago something started rattling. It was a pulley... it was wobbling like a mother. I brought it back up to hyundai and it ended up being my crankshaft, and some bearings (they rebuilt the lower part of the engine). they also replaced my clutch which i paid for. Well, just this past wednesday (March 9) my car was done and i had my dad go and drop me off at the dealership. i got in my car, and noticed right away something wasn't right. I got on teh freeway, and it broke down and i called hyundai and they towed it back. It ended up that they didn't grease anything when they rebuilt it this last time and they had the bearings or gaskets in backwards (i cant remeber which one) now its going to be another week, and hyundai gave me a sonata to drive(which sux by the way compared to the tib) i'm starting to think i just need a new car

Re: Problems with my tib

ey man. it's not the tib that's the problem. maybe at first, but wen u took it, it was the mechanics fault, not the cars. they're the ones who messed up. so keep the car, but try to find better mechanics who wont screw up.

A car is like every other factory assembled product. There is going to be a few defects, and because they cant drive the car all the many miles the car will see, there is no sure way to say if every car will withstand the beating. Cant let a bad apple spoil the good ones. As far as the mechanical issues after dealership repairs, all I gotta say is, they get paid, whether your driving or not. Not all mechanics do their job properly. Find a reliable shop outside the dealership, and check with your Hyundai store. Some will let you use your own mechanic for warranty work.
If you get a new car, go with a Yugo. I hear they are great for pickin up dates.

lemon law wont cover it beacuse it isnt the failure of the same part. really the only things that werent your fault or the mechanics was your the power steering pump and that carnkshaft and bearings the frist time

Re: Problems with my tib

i called hyundai today and they said that my car was all put together. then they told me more bad news.. they let it run for about 10 minutes in the shop and it just died.. they said that the compression was off, and something happened and they have to replace all the valves now another example of the half ass jobs that mechanics do
