Close race with an SRT-4

Got in a very close two block race with an blue SRT-4, not stock maybe had a stage one. I have a completly stock 2000 V-6 m5 maro. I did lose, but it was awfully close, less then half of a car. Then all the sudden...a huge ego lift by the by, two gals in a red conv. 2002 camaro want to try me. we were coming around the corner of lukus in DM and we both stomped it, i won by less then 1/3 of a car but kept pulling. (auto Vrs. Manual.) Are the Xtream S-10 fast?

Re: Close race with an SRT-4

Congrats, I heard those SRT-4's are pretty quick. I would have thought it could take a 3.8 but those are the best kills to make.

Re: Close race with an SRT-4

yeah i see those things dyno 210-220 stock so u figure our 200 well more like 180 to the wheel then add how heavy we are= us getting beat down in a stock v6. its sad when u have to spray to beat a damn 4 banger but u gotta do what u gotta do because i cant loose to no neon, i dont care how fancy the name is on the back, a neon is a neon!

Re: Close race with an SRT-4

see the problem with our 3800's is without doing good engine work and being able to do a pc tune its hard to get a nice cam that will show great gains, dont get me wrong anything is better than stock, but if u look at everything u did to your car, and find a guy that has a ls1 or an lt1 im telling you they get more for the buck than we do, u are still most likly running not much over 195 maybe 200 on a good day 210, which is still less than that what that neon is putting out then the weight comes into factor. the only thing i can say thats good about are engine's are they were well built, the 3800 series 2 can put out some power if u can tap that source but the problem is nobody wants to spend the money 2 do it, and when they do everyone advices them not to and just do a swap. yes they have great parts, yes they are well built, but we are dead last for performance parts its hard to find alot of things for this engine, and neons running superchargers will hand us our asses every time.

those neons are actually turbocharged, not supercharged... that's why they are real dangerous from a roll...

Re: Close race with an SRT-4

Don't know about you guys, but I bought my Z28 for the sound. Love to race though. If some souped up weed eater with an old string bean can on the pipes pulls up to the line and wins, well he'll never sound as good as us unless he gets a V12 or calls his local chevy dealer.
