I'm a new fan of the band, just bought soundtrack to your escape and love it. Can anyone reccomend me any of their other albums or tell me anything about the band? Thanks a bunch.

Re: In Flames

Just get all their other albums. They are my favorite band. Their older stuff is very different from STYE. I enjoy all of it but many fans will tell you the latest is no good. I'd say their best 2 albums are Colony and Clayman. Their previous album, Reroute To Remain, is their most "unique". Like I said... get them all

Re: In Flames

Is it all heavy metal, because STYE sounds progressive at times?

Re: In Flames

Trigger was only like 4 songs... not really an album. Just some remixes.

August 2003 you mean? I went to that show also (Unearth and Soilwork played too) That show was nuts. I lost half my big toe nail, my shoes were ruined, I got a bloody nose and I was kicked in the head.

Nop, August last year, 2004.

I reviewed it for a University assignment, here's the review I did, I got 83%

Quote:
In Flames, Chimaira
Manning UniBar (Sydney University)
Wednesday 22nd September
Start: 8pm, Commence 12pm. Entry cost: $50 (Pre-Paid ‘mosh’ tickets)

Your feet hurt, your legs hurt, you have trouble sleeping, you have high adrenalin, all you want to do is rock, your ears are ringing 10 hours later and not to mention your neck hurts to the point you can’t move it for 2 days straight. These are all symptoms of an awesome night out.
This was not your ordinary rock concert. In Flames, the Swedish metal band, supported by America’s Chimaira (pronounced “kai-meera”) put on a set that was ear bleeding, feet aching, and neck injury inevitable, as a clan of over 1500 filled the Manning UniBar, at University of Sydney, and over 300 of them to hit center stage, and mosh like there was no tomorrow, head bang like they would be deaf tomorrow, and jump around crazily as if they were invincible.
However, although the energy, intense fear of being crushed, and ear-bleeding volume levels were anything but tolerable, the sound was not just sound, but a wall of sound that evoked the dehydrated feeling of being left alone in a desert. The sound wasn’t clear, you couldn’t tell what the singer was saying, what the guitarists were playing half the time, but you could definitely hear the bass drum, as it was mic’d heavily to the point that every time the drummer hit the bass pedal, your chest vibrated. Not to mention, someone turned the heat up, as just standing was as if someone was constantly pouring water on you. Drenched with water, you hear the music, you just go crazy, wild, you don’t know what’s going on, who that is on top of you, and who just kicked you in the shin, but I suppose, this is a modern Heavy Metal concert, and if won’t differ if you went to two different bands, at a different venue.
Although, the sound levels were loud, each instrument was perfect in volume, they weren’t drowning each other out, and there was no “I’m louder than you” contest. The Manning Unibar, is the last leg of the world tour for both In Flames, and Chimaira and neither disappointed. The difference between this, and say, a “Steven Hough” concert (he’s a classical pianist), apart from the absolute obvious, is crowed participation. The two bands got the crowed involved in everything, from doing a specific mosh to a particular tune, beat, or riff, to singing lyrics out loud, screaming loud, and in general, making the band feel like these people are here to see them, not just come because “they had to”, which is what makes these rock concerts, and in specific, heavy metal concerts like this one, unique from nearly every other style of musical concert out there today.
The stage itself was amazing. The light show was fantastic, they had programmed lights to the music, and it was almost as good as Pink Floyd’s famous lighting shows. There were no hanging wires, lose cables, or anything dangerous for anyone to trip over, security guards which provided useful, and medics standing by “just-in-case”. This was by no-means “suitable” for under 18’s (as it was over 18’s only) as alcohol selling was available through the unibar’s bar itself.
Escape the occasional onstage nudity, obscene language, and mind-controlling volume levels, and you had the perfect mix of metal, noise, and bass, and the final serve is 2 days of ear ringing, sore neck, and overall tiredness, and you say to your self when you are paralyzed for a whole day “it was worth it”.
So it was 23rd September, I was close.

The only album I have is Clayman, but what an album it is. Pinball Map and Swim? Fantastic songs.

I'm Sydney based.

Roadrunner refuse to bring Killswitch down here. Trust me when I say that most metal heads here are pissed off.

They played with an Aussie band "Days End", they were fucking insane.
