2001 Jetta front turn signal light bulb
How do you replace bulb? Do you need to remove headlamp assembly? I'm new to Jetta A4s.

Re: 2001 Jetta front turn signal light bulb
The very simple version is this, and you should be able to find more information by searching threads. Pop the hood, then look along the black plastic at the very front of the engine compartment. It's in front of the battery on the driver's side, for example. You'll notice that it's got a little lightbulb written into the plastic. I think there are 2 (phillips, not the weird ones) screws holding that plastic shield in place on both sides. If you want room to move you'll have to remove the battery on the driver's side, I just usually work through the prods and scratches because I'm a bit lazy. Next thing you'll have to do is pop back two metal wire clips that hold the second shield in place. They're at an odd angle, not straight across or up and down, but take a look and you'll see what you've gotta do. Usually they can be pulled open with your hands alone. Then that shield slides mostly straight away, it's on plastic guide pins so if you yank it straight up they'll break and then it's a chore. The headlight bulb has this little twisty locking nut on it to hold the bulb securely in place. Remember to put that thing back on before you finess the blulb back into place, and as usual, don't touch the bulb.

Thanks alot CaseyVR6! I really appreciate your input and directions. Also..do you really like your VR6? I like the power compared to my old 87 GLI engine..1.8 single cam.

I love my VR6. Spanks around most mustangs and 3 series bimmers, so that's always fun. It's got great power, still getting almost 30 to the gallon, and it's treated me very well for over 180,000 miles and counting.
