Question timeing

did major head work on the 3 cyl the timeing has to be set at 10 deg. but still needs to be advanced more but the dis dosent go any further what do you think could be wrong ive double checked every thing

did you short across the connector at the firewall before you checked the timing. if you did and its still needs to be moved further sound like you got belt off a tooth

yes and i checked the belt several times but i am unsure of the mark on the crank pully im used to it beeing a notch and this just has a little scratch type thing where should the mark be in relation to say the belt gears key way ?
